STREETCHIEF PRE - FALL 2015 "NIMA GIRLS" BLOOM COLLECTION

I told you. I told you it will be EPIC! STREETCHIEF  just launched their Pre - Fall Women's collection and I was honoured enough to be the face of it! The collection consists of midi skirts, crop tops and my favourite, visors. I was super excited to work with the photographer William Ukoh also known as Willy Verse because I am a huge fan of his work. Nima Girls is the name of the collection, however the name originated from a town in Ghana called Nima. The artist Jesse Frimpong meshed the ghetto/street style aspect of the town with a fabulous twist. With the use of platform heels, bamboo earrings, Ghana inspired rings and the symbolism and power behind my hairstyle, Jesse was able to make his vision come to life.Even though this was a women's collection, STREETCHIEF wanted to make sure there was a masculine touch using the loafers. This was another amazing experience that I will never forget and throughout this creative process I was pleased with Jesse’s openness in allowing me to share my ideas. There were lots of lessons that I took from this experience and the one that stood out to be was to always remember not to doubt yourself when working on your craft. To always come up with fresh and organic ideas and to stay away from imitating other people’s styles because of the fear of acceptance.
STREETCHEIF is a movement you should be a part of.
